Improve the surveillance of human infections with respiratory-borne RNA viruses

It is important to strengthen surveillance activities around respiratory-borne RNA viruses which have been identified as possessing heightened pandemic potential; constructing an influenza-like surveillance approach that better characterizes the prevalence, patterns, and geographic distribution of these viruses should be a priority.
