A variety of AI systems are being deployed into the world with potential for great benefits but also great harms, whether that’s as a result of behaving in unintended ways in new environments, being used in harmful ways unintended by their creators, or by displaying harmful biases. Governments could develop tools to analyze and monitor deployed AI systems for robustness, bias, ‘dual use’ capabilities, and other important features.
